Engine Specs and Performance Highlights
Depending on the trim you choose, the 2024 Kia Sportage is available at Kia Country of Manteca as a gas-powered car, a hybrid, or a plug-in hybrid. You also have the choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive. Featuring a base 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, customers purchasing the gas-powered entry level trims can expect ample power with 187 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Able to fully charge in just under two hours on a Level 2 charger, the plug-in hybrid option uses the same 1.6-liter engine, one electric motor, and a larger battery pack. It comes only as AWD, and offers a combined horsepower of 261 and 258 lb-ft of torque. Buyers can expect an estimated all-electric range of up to 34 miles, and combined ratings at 36/35 mpg city/highway.
